Ithi Gopyaha pragaayanthyaha

Pralabanthascha chitrada

Ruruduhu suswaram rajan

Krishna darshana laalasa

So lamented the Gopis
Broken hearted they sobbed and cried, almost at the point of death

Their cries sounded like sweet music "swaras"

as they longed  to see their divine lover Krishna again

Tasaam avirabhur chowrihi

smayamaana mukhambhujaha

peetambaradhara sragvi

sakhshaat manmatha manmathaha

In a glorious moment He reappeared!

With his radiant countenance and beautiful smile

Wearing his yellow silk robes

the true God of love who captivates even Kama, the Hindu God of love!
